O Lord
That lends me life,
Lend me a heart
Replete
With thankfulness.

I love this time of year! NOVEMBER!! SWEATER WEATHER!
GRATITUDE!!
Now, I’m aware that the Thanksgiving holiday isn’t until the end of November but, just like Advent takes a whole month to get us ready to truly celebrate the birth of Jesus, I think it takes a whole month to get us ready to celebrate gratitude. I love the intentionality of gratitude. Of stopping and counting our blessings. Letting the awareness of our blessings bring us into an overwhelming, everlasting sense of gratitude to God simply for who He IS.
This Sunday, and throughout November, we’ll be in a sermon series called, “GRATEFUL FOR…”
There are so many things to be grateful for! This will be an unfinished series, one that we’ll return to again and again. This Sunday, we’ll start with one of the basics – FOOD– as we consider Jesus miraculously feeding 5000 with next to nothing.
What are you grateful for?
I encourage you to keep a GRATITUDE JOURNAL this month. Every day, just write down one thing for which you are grateful. If you can’t think of anything, try this exercise in reverse… imagine a world in which every morning, something that you didn’t give thanks for just vanished. It wasn’t there the next day… Your car. Your dog. Your favorite coffee shop… Imagine that if you didn’t acknowledge it with your gratitude, it just disappeared from your life…
I’ll bet you can start that list now!
May we be blessed as we begin to intentionally acknowledge our gratitude this month (and always!) I know I’ll be blessed to see YOU in worship with us this Sunday!
